Anyone have a period catalog that tells the number of a WKC w/ stag grips. With the short blade? I'm looking for the catalog number maybe a 90a or a 91a something on that line.
thanks for any help you can give Smile

The WKC catalog number for the short KS98 is 92a while the long blade is 92. The stag grips are just an option and I don't see that option listed as a separate catalog number.

Thanks very much!! Smile
I had hoped that was the case as the bag is stamped 92a with the bayonet included. I wondered if the stag was a number or 2 off the bag marking. Sad the bag is not in better shape as the quill and frog stud have ate away at it over time. Again thank very much for the correct info!!!! Razz

Oh my!

Now that makes me think twice about looking for a girlfriend! I may not need one anymore, looks like I found "her" Smile No, seriously a beautiful piece indeed. Where did you get it? No matter where, you were one lucky guy. Looks just like it did some 70 years ago!

In my safe Wink I was really unsure if the stag option had a different number than the standard type. The scabbard has some wear on the frog stud and on the ball where its rubbed. The whole thing bag and all shows its age. Its not crispy. I leave all the crispy stuff for (Vintagetimenow!!!!) And ORPO thanks again!! If anyone doubts the usefullness of this forum then something like this shows everyone that it has its place no matter how bad we shoot ourselves in the foot or act up here. If I were still floating the boat solo i would never have found someone with a WKC catalog and always had my questions on the bag number.
