Posted this earlier in the showcase but should be on this forum. Picked it up years ago with a beat up case. It was an opportunity buy for a few bucks. I'm not a medal collector so I'm not claiming originality, it sure looks good, though.

Sorry, but in my opinion it is a fake. Probably from Rudolf Souval. The Fritz Todt Prize with enamelled swatiska didnt exist. Could you post a picture of the reverse? regards Florian
PS: I wrote you an e-mail...

Sorry to say I'm with Florian here as well. Never had the enamel.
However I do with your comment, it does look stunning....
Cheers Don

Thanks for the response. But don't be sorry because I'm not. The price I paid is well worth the quality and appearance of this badge. At least it is to me. I'll post the pictures of the reverse later in the day. The pin in the back is stamped L/58, is this for Souval? I also know this is not a cheap cast copy because I looked at those and they look dismal compared to this one. I believe, judging by its quality, that this is diestruck rather than cast.

L58 and L/58 are indeed attributed to the Rudolf Souval firm, period and post war. The attached link shows a period add for the firm. Also a link to PK numbers and LDO numbers. http://daggers.infopop.cc/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/800097573/...553089086#7553089086I have not yet seen a period example with enamel in the swas. It would be good to see the reverse if you would be so kind. --dj--Joe

Yes, the Souval catch, as I thought. Fake made in the mid 70s. regards Florian

The enamel swaz just bugged the hell out of me so I decided to change it. Broke out the enamel filler and replaced it with metal paste which aftr hardening was sanded and polished. How 'bout that?
