Just received this 1930's EM Hessian State Police Visor Cap .It has a padded heavy green wool top with red piping , cap band is a red cotton . There seems to have been an other insignia on the cap where is now the 1st style Nazi police eagle located. Posted by Bernd.

The interior has a gray cutton liner with gray silk edge liner . Interior also has a steel edge stiffener band that has been bent to form into the high front top and has been bent sideways to leave a soft area to each side of the front peak. There is a blue inked small number "9". Sweat band is in fine shape , jointed at the side where the chinstrap button prongs come through.

George : Thank you .Iam very happy with the condition and appearance/shape of the cap . My question is , what did the Hessian insignia look like before the Nazi time eagle replaced it ? Do you have one to show me ? Thanks , Bernd.

The top ****ade is the correct "National" kokarde. The eagle would have had a Hessian Landeskokarde in red/white/silver before the 1934 Polizei eagle replaced it. I will see if I can come up with a photo.
