Looking at the pictures below the item, there are nice swords and daggers to come.

Anyone already bought from this seller yet?

It looks like he has acquired an old collection with some of the items ranging from the average or nothing to write home about to the rare/exotic. FP

It also looks like one should be careful with this lot of stuff. I don't think this fellow knows exactly what he has, but he certainly wants a lot of money for it. There are some cobbled together items in that pile of swords as FP indicates.

He is also offering a fake USMC sword that has a Mam style hilt mounted to a Civil War issue blade, probably from an artillery enlisted sabre. These were not regulation during the CW and most certainly not made with this blade. He is also offering an enlisted artillery sabre that has a postwar chromed scabbard. CW scabbards were certainly not chrome plated.

Be careful. All that glitters is not gold.

I am not sure if Ebay is more of a blessing or a curse. If you check it regularly, you'll find the most bizarre item descriptions and assumptions. There is currently an artillery saber for sale that is pretty decent--except for the fact that it was once painted gold. Rest assured that the seller thinks it should clean up nicely. I remember a different saber where the seller thought that a horse-drawn artillery caisson etched on the blade was a horse-drawn funeral procession; he thought he had a very rare funeral parade saber. You need to check it just for the laughs.
