Hmmm
I've owned lots of Klaas army daggers, I would guess 50 or 60. I buy 'em all the time whenever I can and I pay stupid prices for 'em. I have never ever seen an RZM Army... anywhere... made by anyone! Now this is very odd for klaas, transitional, meaning maker marked and rzm marked. As well is Ges Gesch marked? It's also an etched mark. Klaas typically stamped their Army marks. Very odd and I'm not convinced it's legit.

I am not saying it's not, rather just that I do not get convinced very easily. Can we see the tang? Is it marked?

Dippy,
Great army collection you have aqquired there, what are the makers on the slant gripped pieces out of curiosity.
I am afraid I too have my doubts on that Klaas blade, but would love to see more pictures, eagle, either side of scabbard bands etc.
Well done also on taking the time to marry all the accoutrements, so many collections dont bother....including mine Wink

GREAT Heer collection there!!!
Nice rare makers of the slant pieces. Christianswerk seems to be most often seen with a slant grip, oftentimes even with later fittings. The reason for this is not clear, perhaps Christians bought a large amount of early slant grips but did not end up making as many as they hoped and thus the grips lasted them into later periods. I spoke with Denny about this and he noticed the same thing.
I also notices that you have one of the blue leather gripped pieces which are, thus far, unattributed. Very interesting.
Thanks for sharing them!!!
Johnny

hi johnny thanks for the comments,i love armys but i have a few more tricks up my sleeve and many more areas to reveal and cause discussion, the blue army was bought from a member on gdc i needed it to see if it fitted my hangers it did,but lets answer my first post, the klass is unusual, i should explain i am a hunter killer as far as daggers are concerned i wake up and want to find the next one i dont wait for them to come to me ,the klass is one of those daggers that ask questions, klass must have made thousands of daggers if they were all the same no one would collect them as they would have 50 or 60 of the same dagger on display ,colours tones and differences make us all seek answers, there could be many scenarios this try this one ........hi mr klass i am a distributer my name is mr william gunther of dresdon i would like 10 of your daggers the authorities are just changing policy and i would like to put my name on the front and i better put yours on the back with that new marking dont want to p...s adolf off ok .....i week later ...dont put any more logos on he back and give me back the others, too late i sold zem all oh well.!!!!!!!!!!!! good for me i found the first one up to you guys to find the rest,

no2 only one type of klass dagger can be sold,

anyone got a third option i bet you have!!!!!!!!!!
i am not trying to take the p... on the contrary i have learnt much from the forum, but i feel it is time to ask a few more questions and not go with text book and mint, after all was there ever an npea staff leaders dagger, would an sa ever cost $1000 why would a german loyal to hitler and the cause ever leave his rohm inscription on his dagger ,this klass could have been to the russian front escaped with its life by a hairs breadth came back to berlin,,,o, with its officer, and been put away in a cupbboard ,he got bombed the dagger lay there until his wife gave it to me with the story, and i passed it on to you guys that is history , and i own it and want to pass it on,or it could have been found in a bombed out shop looks the bo,,,,ks sent back ,but i cant even touch it cos its mint.i seem to get very few passionete replys let yourselves go this is not a contest this is an exploration into the past.well im glad i got that off my chest.i think the question is,is it real where did it come from...its real....i have seen many fakes i own some they remind me how basic they are, can the majority of you be fooled i think not, so why would this happen lets go again . hi hans ve need to make some marks i know lets embelish some of those high end dagggers with mottos and make 10 ,000 marks, dont be a vally fritz lets put a weird motto just as it would be on the back of those 10 klass daggers and make 5 marks, good idea we will soon get germany back on its feet.i know i will rise to the bait feel free.but in the meantime in case your getting bored i will show the greek dagger and the blue one.oh if you have never seen a new type of dagger with a difference, try johnsons new set of dagger books aint a normal one in there text book throw it away, unless of course you wnt to sell a dagger for thousands.
tonite i dont think so dippy

the man that dosent change his mind or strategy,,might as well be called hitler

bit deep that one try this

if adam had left eve alone i might have got to watch the football in peace
