Louie, I think you and I are the only ones that are not going, and still here! It is a bummer that we can't make it! I will not miss the Max though. Finally it is closer to me this year (the Max).

I'm in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. The Max, later this year, is going to be in Indianapolis I hear. Not too far for me. I think they decided to move it to a better location in an attempt to re-capture its previous glory. Being in NC is convenient for the east-coasters, but bad for most of us other collectors. Lousy hotels there, etc. Indy seems like a more central loaction. Also, there is a better logistical situation there. Better hotels, airport, light rail, etc. Somewhere in or near the midwest makes more sense to me, since it would be so much easier for so many people. If the current SOS was closer, I would make the attempt to drive out for a day or two. I just am too busy to hassle with a flight and hotel and all the other BS in getting out east this weekend. Also, a new business venture is keeping me tied down for a while. Hell, Minneapolis would be even better for the Max and/or SOS, and not just because I live here! There is a great airport, the best hotels, the Mall of America (for the wives who come along) and a fantastic newer convention center. Guns are ok here too! Most of us hunt, fish, etc. The flights in and out are actually quite cheap. I have never paid more than $300 round trip to anywhere in the US, and even to most places we vacation, Mexico, etc. Also, Northwest Airlines is based here and flies non-stop to just about everywhere, including most cities in Europe. Sh%t, I should be pitching this to Wittmann, Johnson, and the others! The more I think about it, MSP would be a great location! We attract a LOT of major conventions, I think Vegas is about the only place that would be better.
