One of my collector buddies showed me a picture of his father while in Saipan. Which is very interesting is the helmet with the attached Globe & Anchor which is unusual.

Nice photo. The early US helmet liners had a metal grommet for attaching rank devices, but until now I have never seen a EGA applied to one. Although attaching the EGA was very popular with the USMC pith helmets, so I can see how it could be carried over.
