Sorry if I bringing up an old discussion...
What makers have you seen (and I mean on real knives), that has the RZM-mark on the obverse ricasso? Transitional or RZM. I guess Evertz and Ritter is the most common ones. Besides them, I have an old beater thats made by Wusthof, wich has the Wusthof maker mark on the reverse and the Wusthof RZM and date on the obverse (and to my knowledge, its a real one). What about you?

Just bringing this back to the top because this is an interesting topic and one that doesn't seem to have been discussed alot on this forum. There are a few threads that mention RZM marked obverse blades but I don't think there were any pics, and a list hasn't been made. Could members who have these perhaps post pics? I hope we will get some info from those well versed in the subject, HJ enthusiasts who have large collections, dealers etc. Unfortunately, I don't have any myself, but it is a subject that I'm interested in reading about.
Regards
Russell

Thanks Leipzig for making a start!
I understand there was an order that details the change regarding placement of the RZM mark on the obverse of HJ's? Does anyone have a copy of this order that could also be posted?
Regards
Russell

HJ-collector, can you post a pic of your Wusthof?
I've seen various pics of M7/2's but they have been repros.
From an earlier thread Ron W has a Kuno Ritter with M7/3 1936 on the obverse and the trademark and motto on the reverse - can you post a pic Ron?

As I said, it really is a beater. I have sold it since I wrote the previous post, but I managed to find some pics of it anyway. Sorry about the bad picture quality, hope its somewhat visible.

Interesting, only a couple of makers seemed to do this. Here are another Wsthof and an Arthur Everts variation.
Best greetings,

Nice knife, Herr Mann. I guess your Wusthof has the makers mark on the reverse too?

Herman, it looks like that second knife is marked M7/13 for Schuttelhofer, or is it a poorly struck M7/19 for Wusthof? Do either of your knives have any other markings?
Regards

Russell,
It's a poorly struck 19.

Thanks for the reply G24T, you have a couple of nice HJ knives there, an early maker marked Christians with motto, and a later RZM marked Max Weyersberg. Most of the knives, if they had an RZM mark, were marked with this on the reverse of the blade, as yours is. HJ-Collector and I are hoping to find out which knives had the RZM marked on the front, or obverse of the blade/ricasso, and judging by the number of views, and few responses so far, it seems there were not too many, or the topic is not lighting anyone's fire!. Thanks very much for your reply and pics. If you see one of these in your travels, please come back and post it!
Regards
Russell

Wanna wake up this thread and show you this Gustav C. Spitzer-made Fahrtenmesser der Hitlerjugend, (manufactured in 1938 ?). Rivets and hilt are magnetic.
From 1939 on the blades were marked with the year of production and were made of zinc, am I right ?
