Forum,
was at the salt lake city gunshow and came across a dealer with a short police clamshell bayonet , was there ever a bayonet like this need to know am interested in buying it ,there is no maker mark on the blade ,thank you in advance.

Yes-There are period Nazi produced aluminum hilt clamshell police bayonets.

This piece is a Customs clamshell and not Schutzpolizei but it was 3R manufactured and has an aluminum hilt.

Clemen & Jung maker's mark on the reverse ricasso. The piece is well detailed but nowhere near as heavy as the Weimar produced bayonets that were cut down.
