Shall we attempt a thread on German Red Cross and Social Welfare badges, Awards, medals, etc.?
I will start off with my Type I members badge. --dj--Joe Obverse.

Very occasionally it can be found without the "2" on the reverse. However characteristics on the obverse show that it's from the same maker.

Joe,
They didn't use an eagle on the collar tabs, just a plain cross.
Here are a couple of snaps from my collection. This first one is a crop from a family group shot.
Cheers Don

Finally another crop from a group shot showing two officers. This iamge is interesting as it shows uniforms from the Weimar period as well, must have been taken during that transitional period

Don, thanks, good pics. In the group pic. can you make out what the Officer on the left, facing, is wearing on his collar tabs? My knowledge on Red Cross rank insignia is sorely lacking.
--dj--Joe
Don's response, Aesculap insignia. Thanks Don.
