Not really the ones with the MM near the crossguard are Rohm daggers are they not?

The Rohms will be close to the crossguard but the MM will also be smaller in size than the regulars.Mike

Yeah, they look to be the size of a nickel and a dime or so. But you can see the size. its just a way cool image!!

Yep, Aesculap produced regular service SA daggers and honor SA daggers with the R�hm dedication. The R�hm SA daggers have a smaller MM which is closer to the crossguard. Here a pic with two R�hm honor SA daggers (small MM) on the left and the right. In the middle a regular service SA dagger with the larger MM.

Dear Ivbaust- I remember the situation well- it was Sept of 1991 and I was driving through southern Germany-stopped in Tuttlingen and was given a solo tour of the factory(probably because I was a doctor and had used their instruments) I was told the surrounding forests were called Birkenwald (I remembered the name because of the similarity to Birkenau-Auschwitz 2)- Mike

Hello Mike, I�m sorry to say that but there are nearly no birch trees around Tuttlingen. At least not today. How do I know? Well, I live and work in Tuttlingen since many decades, I have never heard about a "Birkenwald" and I haven�t seen that much birch trees during my bike rides through the area of Tuttlingen.

Well, the next step is obvious. Ivbaust, you must find some youngster from Tuttlingen who worked at Aesculap 74 years ago and ask him. It looks like there are some heavily wooded areas between your home and Tuttlingen- what are those forests composed of? Mike
