Does anyone have a name and phone number for someone that does silver plating? I have a French scabbard drag that needs plated. All the people i know, do comercial plating. Years ago I bought a bottle of liquid silver plate in Germany, highly poisonous, so doubt if available now. Anyone know of any liquid silver type plate? Thanks , James

James: One way to ajpply a silover coating is by brushplating. It involves an applicator brush and a 3volt transformer and the plating solution which comes in form of a gel. The process is like painting exept that you have electrodes attached to the applicator brush and the object to be plated. The nice thing is that you don't need to have a tank setup to mess with and you can plate withing a few minutes without extensive preparations and cleanups. It can be used for localized touchups without having to submerse the object. I have been using it for over 15 years. There are plating gels for gold, silver, brass, copper and nickel. All exept nickel are cyanide based and come in small glass jars.
