I think if it's a copy, it's a very good one.

In my opinion only, the date 1941, looks spindly to my eyes, and on Zimmermann pieces I am used to seeing a plate under the catch. Also it could be the angle but is the plate under the hinge smaller than seen in the references?
Just opinions and questions, no depth of knowledge. I do not own one so nothing but reference books and pictures to compare.

It is a good heavy zimmerman. The date looks fine and its wreath shows the characteristics of the zimmerman. The catch and hinge arrangement is seen on the heavy, vs light versions. All in all, a good cross.

According to the COA, the measurements are W 63,01 mm H 63,11 , Weight 65,46 g
I believe that that "the plate" under the catch mentioned by Derjager, is found on the "light" version of this award.

I wish to thank Vesuvio and all who contributed to this thread! This is our first example of a heavy 20 DKG on this forum to my knowledge and a nice addition to our knowledge base.
Excellent work gents.

Goodness no. Not even cased. Is it supposed to be named to a specific individual? Diamonds?

I received my category 3, {Duty worn} D.K. in gold today. a little rough around the edge. I will post pics tomorrow. C.F. Zimmerman, four rivet. The most common encountered. But just how often is that? any ballpark figures of value based on my description would be greatly appreciated. The front of the medal is still in great shape. Much thanks, Paul
