I would appreciate some opinions from the more experienced Boker SS collectors on this particular piece. The grip looks off to me causing me to question the whole thing.

Crossguards are maked with an H and a single dot on the opposite side of each. Tang has a making like (-) Thoughts? I think the blade is OK. It's the grip I need other opinions on. Mark

The shape of the grip looks OK but I would also like to see closeups fitted to the crossguards. The H marked crossguards are OK for Boker, but the tang usually has a vertical mark that has a barb at the top and bottom. It looks like the style of rune button that connects to the inner ring but I can't see it too well and Boker used several styles of buttons. What looks off to you?

Last one..just the maker mark. The tang does have the correct marking of a 'bracketed line'. Comments? Mark

The grip to crossgaurd fit on both upper and lower are usually drum tite on Boker examples. I've handled several and this has held true for each piece. The Boker Firm is said to have used better kiln dried wood so there is less shrinkage as time goes on as opposed to other firms. This is not to say that your piece isn't original or correct however. Maybe Dave H. can look at this and give his opinion.

I'm no expert but at first glance, I'm certain that the grip is original but it may not belong to these specific crossguards. The top grip is poorly fitted with the crossguard and this seldom happens with an early Boker, which are known to have great fit. The top grip seems much rounder than the crossguard, which is in itself quite unusual. You can actually see horizontal space gap between the crossguard and the grip. I don't know but I would also be very concerned. Wouldn't you ?

The overall shape of the grip looks OK to me but there is more grip shrinkage than I'm used to seeing on a Boker. The rune button does not connect to the inner ring and it is unlike any other I have seen on a Boker, but that does not mean it is not good. Without knowing more about why you are concerned I would say that it is OK.

I'm not overly concerned, but that's why I posted the pics. It's for sale and I'm going to post it on the free classifieds shortly. I did not crank down on the top nut so I would not split the grip, thanks for the comments. Someone may get a deal here on the rarely seen "starter Boker"! Mark

Looks like a repaint. Very well done and has just a few 'speck' chips. No spidering at all.
Fits the dagger like a glove, not sloppy or too tight at all.

Any reasonable offer for this particular dagger will be considered. I want to have some pocket money for the SOS and I want to move it. I am willing to let it go inexpensivly or put it back in the drawer until the next gunshow... Mark
