I've shown this gravity knife before but, since we have a fourm devoted to airborne I thought I would run it one more time. What do ya'll think about the markings? Was there a LUFTLANDE STURM 7? Thanks, Dale

Dale, unfortunately not. The markings are fantasy markings, done postwar. They make no sense.

I agree with Chris, that this was done postwar. First, I don't believe the engraving. It does not have a period done look to me. Second, I have never seen the nomenclature for the LL-Sturm Rgt. written anywhere without the "Rgt". "Luftland Sturm 1" simply does not make any sense (from a correct nomenclature perspective ) Just seems very odd. I think the numerial at the end is meant to be a "1" and not a "7". There was only one LL-Sturm Rgt. and typically a German "7" will have a horizontal line through it. Here is some more info on the Luftland - Sturm - Regiment.

I hate to say it, but it looks like the kind of engraving done for trophies and nameplates. Not German at all. Maybe if it's not deep, it can be buffed out. It's a nice looking knife otherwise.
