I saw this knife being sold on a site in my country. I called the owner but he could only tell me that he bought it from an elder man in Krefeld, Germany. This is the only picture I have. Does anyone knows if it is a replica or a genuine dagger? Thank you!

Even if the picture is really bad, it is easy to tell that this Chained SS is a complete FAKE.

I don't have any experience with this kind of daggers. I would like to know how can you tell it's a fake. Also, it would be interesting to know who makes these copies. Do you think it's worth about 180$ as a replica?

It is a fake and not worth even half the price asked. There are several clues as to what makes it a fake, but some are the runes button and eagle in the grip, the blade motto etch and the scabbard chain (poor detail and not enough links). These reproductions are fairly common and frequently appear on auction sites such as eBay. As to their origin, I do not know. Probably Spain or Germany. Many fakes are now coming out of China and other countries in Asia.
