Left-hand shoulder board , collar tab , and WW I ribbon bar . The ribbon bar pin goes through 6 loops , but the needle is also sewn on with thread going through the green silk interior liner . Sleeves have white with gray stripes liner . There is also a wool reinforced opening for the dagger hanger through the left hand pocket top.

Interesting uniform. I have never seen a shooting cord like that in gold color. Also, the shoulder boards are not the normal type in that the top portion should be green rather than silver. The Feld and Forst Huter badge is an early badge (about 1934) an apparantly was a volunteer group.

Houston: Thanks for your comments . The tunic is a private tailored one of pre-war date . The shoulder boards twisted bands are of a green color with subdued silver thread , The camera flash made them look brighter !. The Hueter badge I got 20 years ago out of a 'Grab-Box ' filled with junk stuff for a full $5. At the time I did not know what it stood for , just liked it -and knew it was original based on it's condition and construction !. It has a hollow back , the front scroll is held on by 2 prongs , and it has a long straight vertical pin . The scroll original had reflective paint, but that is mostly worn off .The Prussian Eagle has the swastika on it's Chest .Very similar to the " Feldjaeger " sleeve and cap star design .

Bernd,

collar tabs and shoulder boards do not match. The shooting cord is something from a shoooting ass. or similar, nothing official and was for sure not allowed to wear with this tunic. The tunic looks a little bit like early past war made. soory, but that's my opinion.

Your opinion is yours ! "All is in the eye of the beholder !! "--I still LIKE it --and the label inside the tunic says more to me that it is a period item ! I KNOW the shoulder boards are a higher rank than the tabs -- but he might just not upgraded same , for what reason --who knows . I also know the cord is not the " official " one --but that one I had --and it looks great on the tunic ! Same with the awards that I placed on it ! Bernd .

The shoulder boards are unlike any that I have seen on a Forestry tunic. The tops should be solid green-not metalic at all-Perhaps these are Heer Gebirgsjager? Also-the silver buttons, velvet shoulder board underlay and velvet collar tabs indicate a dress tunic but the felt collar is usually found on the service tunic.

The shoulder boards have a green velvet underlayment . So , I think the question should be : when did the Forest Service use these kind of shoulder boards --or what branch of the Forest service does this indicate ? I have a loose pair of shoulder boards with the same kind of finish to straight 8 threads with 2 alum. stars on a gray wool base , that come from Goering's estate from a forest master that worked there (uncle of my cousin ) --Soo, may be association with Goering as Head of the Reich's Forest Service introduced some stRange combinations ? The colar set with these shoulder boards have oak leaves in the lower corners and 3 oak leaves in the center on gray wool backing with silver edge twisted cord .

Seeing the label inside the tunic, I accept that it is a piece out of the time. The collar tabs are for a Revierfrster a.pl. (= "auerplanmig")in the states service after the 22.April 1938. The shoulder boards are the early third reich type for a "Forstmeister" in the forestry states service before 1938. Regards Kolibri
