Hello All,

I am sorting through collection of my girlfriends father who passed away. He had many medals and left a detailed list of them, but medals themselves are not marked or tagged in any way to correlate with the list. In most cases the list is very descript such as: "war merit cross - 2nd class-sword", and this is sufficient to identify them. But...there are allot of spaces on list with this recurring abbreviation "AS IN 13" "AS IN 19" and so on...
Does this description ring any clear bells with any of you?

Thanks in advance for your feedback!!

I would assume He was referring to a reference book with numbered images. ?

Or possibly He cataloged his own images and numbered them?

Ok, I see just now these are correlating to list/item numbers on his list...eg; #20 on list it appears "AS IN 19" so I assume it means a duplicate item.
Will know when I sort through medals to confirm this, but this appears a non-question at this point...case closed.

Thanks derjager

If your not sure what medals or badges you have, just post a photo. There are plenty of people here who would be able to id them.

This is actually one I wanted to post, maybe one above can be deleted? (BTW Thanks for moving RADwj topic to that awesome thread!! Smile
These birds I am guessing not to be "tinnies" at all, but where all together in one bag simply marked/described as "badges minor", so I've had my work cut out for me with over 130 to identify...
I have narrowed it down to the remaining ones above that remain unidentified.
Again any help, or clues are appreciated, big thanks in advance from this crash-course newbie,
Germanating1

Apoligies for image quality, did these on scanner, and these sheets are cut/paste from scans of varried quality (as I was getting the hang of it with this borrowed scanner). My flat-bed scanner died...older, but put out allot more light than these new (all-in-ones), and did an awesome job on dimentional/relief stuff like this, unlike this one...the focus fall-off rate...bummer.
Anyway, I posted these with hopes some of you knowledgable folks could recognize and off hand name/describe 'what' they are, or posibly identify (translate) provincial or org. clues...not so much concerned with authentication/grading aspects yet...but if you would like/need to see a better/closer image I'll do my best to furnish images per request.
I don't want anyone to hurt themselves on this Smile
Hehehe, maybe I should have titled this thread "Name that Tinnie" gameshow like.
Thanks all

The birds are hat eagles for the most part with three mess dress (for lack of the correct term), breast eagles.

How large is #31? I think it is a membership badge.

Will do some deleting. Smile

As to the tinnies, might be a start to break them into catagories such as HJ, veterans, sports, etc.

A quick look, #2, #10 and #23 are sports related.

I would like to see #39 up close. Have a feeling it's not too common!

How about #36 and #37 also?

If a tinnie says GAU TAG it's a province day badge. GAU = province.
KREIS = district.
MAI = May day badge. May day festival. #35.
TAG DER ARBEIT #26 = day of work.

#17 is a WHW piece, Winter help relief. #40 also.
