Last month i visited several American WW2 vets, 2 of whom were from the 101st Airborne Division. One of them started collecting German souvenirs during WW2 and continued after. The Swiss Army knife depicted in a thread below, was liberated by him at Carentan.
Here are a few other Luftwaffe items I got in December: A dbl decal M35 Luft helmet (from a 501st PIR vet), a blue bandolier (not 100% positive it's original, because it was bought post-war), a custom-made Cigarette box w/large, heavy Luft eagle attached to the lid, presented to a senior corporal by his C.O. in 1938-the long inscription on the lid begins:
"Gut ist was Hart Macht".
This box was liberted by the 502 vet's brother-in-law, an officer of the 84th Infantry Division. It is not a FJ-related box, but still neat.
Next early Luft peaked cap eagle (short wing span), cloth FJ and pilot badges, 2d model luft Dagger hangers, but no dagger(these were clipped onto an Army dagger)and a Weyersberg gravity knife, which a 501st PIR vet picked-up after the batle of Hells Corners on 7 June, 1944 at Peneme, France, from a prisoner of the 1st Bn FJR 6.
