My one and only, I picked it up last sunday at a small show, it has my favourite mark on the blade and is in excellent condition.
How do I know if the frog is the correct type for this bayonet, is there a distinct variety for firemans bayonets. There is no marking on it that I can see.

Cheers

Gary

Hi. You did well in getting this beauty. The TM is really nice. Regarding the frog, there were several variations and judging by the ones I have, they were generally black in colour. Yours seems ok in my opinion. Both the shape and color given the wear are in the norm.

Gary.

WARNING!!!WARNING!!!! This is how it starts.......first one...then another....because you liked it.
Before long you run out of wall space and the buggers begin to migrate to your drawers where they can hide for many years. Then the loft beckons......been there done that, still doing it.

But it is a nice bayonet and it would have been rude to pass on it.(as I was heading in the opposite direction it may caught my eye had you not bought it :0)

See you soon

Frank

Gary, very nice FW. A TM not often seen and she's very pretty I would be proud of it. I don't have that TM yet myself. The only way you can beat it is with a sawtooth inventory marked.

Steve.

John,

Ha, you're right! This one fell into my lap when the last thing I was looking to buy was another fireman's bayonet. Another early Eick production piece, this one is really mint. Blade is super & just look at the color of that early bakelite & those wide crossguards. They really made an excellent product in those days & I never really get tired of having such pieces.

Gary I think that fire bayos employed the same black frog as a std army bayo. I think the riveted examples are considered earlier. Nice score!
Billy, Great photography as usual!
