Nice.I like the dimensioal look to it.
Any idea if it's silver and are there any markings on the back?

Hi Dean, there's no markings on it and it's pretty heavy. This plaque was sold in Munich during the period as a souvenir and was one of a series with the other having the Mahnmal on it.

On a side note here's the photo that this plaque was produced from. Note the birds in the fore ground and flags on the sides.

Erich,

Super looking plaque, first time I've seen one like this. The metalic coating looks to be in mint condition too. Often the coating is nicked, scratched and worn away, this one looks tiptop! This'll fit in great with your collection too ... Smile

Best regards!

Bill

Thanks Bill and Hugh, you don't see too many of these plaques around considering how popular they may have been at the time.

Hello Erich, Beautiful Plaque! Here is another photo postcard of the scene. Note the flag on the right side is a little more like the one in the sculpture. There were at least 2 versions of this postcard and for some unknown reason they changed the flags!
