Ok Guys,
I know we can't compete with the other huge US forums, but I think our little corner of the world has some merit to it.

So to encourage some more participation here, as was done on some other threads, I will offer a Free Raffle of a fabulous US military related prize (TBD by me), to a random poster. All you need to do to enter is post something US of yours in this thread. Share something with the rest of us.

I will let this run a week and then pick a winner. Feel free to increase your odds by posting several items.

Go to it and good luck!

Don't worry Dave, the drawing is fixed anyway Wink But thanks for posting, those compasses are nice. neat to see the differences in eras. Guys like compasses. We sell a ton of them at the shop, I think its a neat souvenir because it actually does somthing.

what is interesting about the rifle badge is that someone added a loop to allow it to be worn from a necklace. I would think 1960s era on that one.

I can't tell you how many "Pinback Iron Cross" call I have went on only to see the US shooting qualification medals.

There are some neat "bars" you could qualify for on these; Sword, Pistol, Mortar, grenade, etc.

Jerry, I see that now! Smile Originally, it was a "pin-back" but the pin was removed! Here is a pic of the reverse. Regards, Leipzig

One of my favorite's as well. The purple heart really is something very special. My Grandfather in WWII stoped counting Purple Hearts after five and was awarded 4 silver stars.
Thanks for showing it.

I met some American Airforce personnel from Hahn at the Monaco Grand Prix in 1987. They invited me to visit the base when next in Germany, so I took up their offer. Here's a couple of my visitor passes and some patches they gave to me from the base, for the 50th Tactical Fighter Wing, and the US Air Forces in Europe. Their hospitality was outstanding, and I was able to get a great tour, and a good look at the F16's.

Regards
Russell

That neat Span/Am glassware reminded me of a rare badge in my wife's Military Nursing collection.

Given to Nurses who served with the U.S. Armed Forces in the Spanish American War. The info we have says this was established in 1899. Hope you like!

Kind of a neat story on that jump wing pin, it came with a WWII 541 oval pinned on UNDER it. ( but that I kept... Big Grin)
