Ralph

They are all great, but number 5 (Holler) bayonet is great. Just love the horses on the etch.

Bayonets 13 and 14 are double etched with the same copy and designs on both sides but if you will notice the etching on the cannon side at the far end of the etching the design is different. These are both Holler blades. I have placed blade number 10 into the last photograph to show the same etch in the long blade.

Bayonets 15,16 and 17 are all E. Pack & Sohne Solingen. This completes the photographs of the cannon etched bayonets. Please add any additional photographs with different cannons or variations that will be helpful for future comparisons. When you compare some of the bayonets of the long and short models and the etchings you can find flaws that some of the purists do not want to put aside with these war production blades. They do exist and any items produced for a army of millions will have its dings, pings and flaws.
I hope you enjoyed looking.
Sincerely,
HUBERTUS

vintagetimenow,

You still can, with some of the common etches they still aren't that much money and make a great display. Take a look, if you like at my web-site..VonRyansExpress.com
