gentlemen i am assuming that this handle is no good?the eagle doesnt look right to me and i have compared it to some of mine.also the roundel doesnt seem right either,turned the opposite way and thick runes.am i correct? thanks mark

Agreed, the eagle does'nt llok right to me either. I looked in Tom Wittman's SS book at the known variations just to be sure, no match there.The roundel seems strange as well. The sigrunnen spacing seem too close together, again compared to known examples. The chipping or gouging around the roundel only adds to mystery so to speak.

That could very well be the case. I have looked at the political pieces I own, and do not have any that are like this. IMO, to have two of these offered by the same individual is too much for coincidence. The bore for the tang should be squared off ( more rectangular )on the bottom of the grip, that is why I asked. There should also be depressions, however slight they may be to the grip wher the crossgaurds were mounted, assuming they are used originals. I'm sure somewhere in this hobby are original daggers, parts, ect that have not been seen before. I would be very apprehensive about purchasing these however if that is your intention.
