Pete, thank you! You certainly did have some to share. I saw quite a few that I would deem myself lucky to own. I for one appreciate seeing all you have posted and the effort that goes with posting them. Regards,--dj--Joe

I wish more collectors who appreciate tinnies would speak up! It has to be disheartening to go to all the effort to copy, size and post and then recieve one or two comments then nothing more.

Don, as much as you contribute, never a need for penitence! My comments were not pointed in your direction nor in the direction of any of our consistent contributors.

Erich, thanks for posting both nice pieces! Here is my zinc 31 Treffen badge. Painted a dark grey (same color as the tank on my 25 PAB). --dj--Joe Obv.

The obverse may be a tad over sharpened but it was either that or under sharpened. Reverse, The M1/17 mark is there but I can not get it to show and maintain the color. --dj--Joe

Barker, thanks for sharing. I still do not know what the first one is for. The second is a first time see for me. Sonnwende = summer equinox festival. Usually spelled out Sonnenwende.

Well, the winged wheel is something to do with the Reichsbahn and the feather (pen?) is probably for writing (Beamten?) A German member may recognise the church/townhall whatever, and so give us a possible location. Though the towers look Eastern in style. Any makers name/mark? The second is a nice early piece and Joe said it all. Regards, Pete

Yup, you'r right. Just checked Tiestes books, and the towers are on other Munich tinnies. Can't find this one in there at the moment. It's not under Munich or in the unknown section. However he has only 12,500 or so listed and I have a few not in there, so it must be a little unusual perhaps. Odd pin with the protcective loop broken/missing from the end, or is it just bent? Regards, Pete

Pin is all there, just bent at a 90 to the badge. looks like it was done to make it easier to fasten.

Common Tinnie, uncommon modification. Anyone ever seen this modification? Vet pickup so "almost" has to be TR period modification.

I've not seen split rivets done before.
For attaching to a belt?

Locking this thread. 16 pages are a bit much to scroll through. Besides it's getting on in age and may eventually corrupt and fail. Please continue on at this link. http://daggers.infopop.cc/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/800097573/m/8440084525Day Badges/Tinnies thread #2 --dj--Joe Content should be saved for now.Let that read 15 pages, I had to delete a number of linked images that were no longer with us.

1933, Sonnenwende Zeitenwende Bergisch Land. This is a heavy badge and ca 4,8cm high. Material brass colored. I suppose this badge rare?
