Heres one I scanned to help someone else, the much reproduced Volkswaggon tinnie. This is made from alluminium.

Smile It is a tinnie. 1st Franken-Ostmark meet of the H.J. at Nurnberg. The eagle and bars are a heraldic device of Nuremberg.

Smile Have not posted anything here for some time.
I am wondering if this is simply a tinnie that got elevated (price and importance wise) out of proportion by the collecting community?
Thoughts!

After looking at all these rare tinnies from so many members no one has mentioned the guru of tinnies and WHw in Germany Reinhardt Tieste. He has out several books which IMO are the bible for collectors today and he sells also. His English is excellant and a pleasure to deal with. his URL is below have a look and I highly recommend his tinnie books

Here are some of the tinnies that came with a collection I purchased several years ago: This is the way I got these and frankly I don't think I've ever had them out of the tray. Sorry about the glare on this picture.

Top part of Rikker tray: What amazes me somewhat is the varying materials used.

Bottom part of Rikker tray: My own favorite is the 1933 Nurnberg and you see an example 3rd from the left bottom row. I have a couple of these.

I particularly like the SA ones. I don't know if anyone has ever estimated the number of different tinnies produced but it must be substantial.
