Good Morning,
I just want to take a few moments to share with you my favorite medal bar.
I would love to see your Non Combattant bars as well. Please post any you have! They do not have to be Prussian... Any Germanic WW1 Noncombattant bar is welcome!

I apologize Bob.
For the Medal Bar we have,
1. 1914 Prussian Iron Cross Second Class, Non Combattant 2. Prussian War Aid Cross 3. Red Cross Medal, Third Class 4. Hindenburg Cross, Non Combattant Version.
The ribbon bar consists of:
1. 1914 Prussian Iron Cross Second Class, Non Combattant 2. 1939 War Merit Cross Second Class with Swords 3. Saxon Bravery Medal 4. Hindenburg Cross with swords(some idiot removed the swords) 5. and 6. Are Heer/KM long service medals.
Warmest regards Paul

Thank you very much for your kind comments. Non Combattant medals are my favorite as well.
As a basic side note, there were over five million combattant Iron Cross second classes awarded in WW1. There were only 13,000 Non Combattant EK2 versions awarded in WW1

Here's the only contribution I can make toward a non-combatant medal bar topic. (l-r) 1. 1914 EK II (non-combatant) 2. 1888-1918 War Service (non-combatant) 3. Sachsen 25 Yr Service Cross 4. 1907 South Africa Service 5. 1897 Kaiser Centennial 6. 1914 Mecklinburg_Schwerin IIC ( probably period replacement- possibly for returned Crown Order or Red Eagle Order... or ??) 7. 1887 Bavarian St. Michaels Cross 8. Wurttemburg Knights Cross (1C ?)
Above information from various sources... any input/opinions appreciated.

Roger,
That is one of the most beautiful Non Combattant EK bars I have ever seen!!! Nice! I have never before seen a 1887 Bavarian St. Michaels Cross before! What was it awarded for? Do you know how many were awarded?
Paul

Paul Thank you for your kind comments. Re: The St. Michaels Cross - I have never found a statistic on the number awarded. Also, I'm not sure of exactly why it was awarded but would guess it was an award for exemplary service to the State and the Church.
