The '33 (1933) is the "first issue" dagger. It comes in a regular scabbard (no chain). Although this type of dagger was produced into the early 1940's, including those "RZM" marked, any such model is considered a 1933 model. The 1936 model is the type with the "chained" scabbard. Although "factory" examples appear to come with no maker mark, the "chained" scabbard is sometimes found with a maker-marked dagger in it. Actually, this would be a '33 dagger in a '36 scabbard, but some would call it a '36 anyway.
