Thanks Wolf. How the heck can you tell It's artif. aged? Interesting about the wire also, normaly a left twist? (i might have to change from K.P. to Watson since everyone else on this site it sherlock)

KP,
You can read some good information about wire twist patterns on german-helmets.com. Compare the paint with other camo helmets you can find on this forum. The reddish rust is also not a good sign.

As Baer demonstrates in his 1985 Volume, double twist chicken wire is produced in the USA. Here, in the US, we have known about the stuff for, it now seems, forever.
The importance of adequate reference information when collecting TR helmets cannot be overestimated as the motivation to fake same is, to many, an uncontrolable urge.
