Hello!, Here is the luft bb I tried to post yesterday and couldn't get pics up! had this one quite a few years and cant find ANY markings on it.As you see it has a web tab on it that is BLUE. Love to know if its a good one,what type, and what maker and approx year of production? THANKS for any and all info! Big Grin Kevin.

As far as I can see, there's nothing wrong with this piece. Blue web tabs are pretty rare, but have been seen before. Whether buckle and tab started a meaningful relationship before or after 1945 can't really be detected from the photos, but wear on both seems to be even. On the basis of the photos, I'd give a thumbs-up.

No, as far as know no-one has ever done a comparative study systemising particular features of marked buckles that would allow comparison with unmarked buckles. Why don't you start with this labour of love?

Nothing wron with the VERY desirable piece, As for the maker, could be Aurich or Assmann... year..I sugest 42 or 43.
