I have always heard to stay away from Glider Piolt badges that don't have any rivets. But in one of Christopher Ailsby's books he states that the eagle was sweated on tho the wreath. My example is marked L12 in the upper right had side of the hinge. Any opinions?

derjager,
Thank you for your reply. Maybee I should just get your email address and contact you direct, since no one else replies. That is one thing I heard about this forum, you have to have somthing really rare or SS to get anyone to respond.

Thanks Joe,
I got my info from "A Collectors Guide To: WWII German Medals and Political Awards by Christopher Ailsby" published 1994. And that is the ONLY book I have ever heard this in.

I have not read that volume, will have to see if the library can get it.
Am I correct in seeing that your example has been broken and repaired? Have you compared measurments against others (for what that is worth)Smile.
