Recent find this Imperial Hirschfanger 26 1/2" long ,maker:Eickhorn(Double squirrel back to back), distributor mark on spine:Michovius Hoflieferant Cotthus. Blade is engraved with hunting scenes, stag horn grip has two acorns and a Guarde Star with"Suum Cuique" - the crossguard reflects two hunting dogs with deer hoofs in there mouths, the clamshell reflects two hunting dogs bringing down a stag. A real beauty with heavy details.

Goldfasan.
I believe this to be a Unofficial walking out side arm (Hirschfnger) for a member of the Guarde Schtzen or Guarde Jger battalions. This looks to be an Eickhorn pattern 429. Of course the other possibility is that somebody has removed the middle acorn and added a Guarde Star to try and enhance the hirschfnger, I doubt it makes much real difference, depending on condition prices would range between $450 and $1200, it would have to be Nr mint to be the higher figure.

Gary - thanks for the info- As to the Guarde Star it looks like its been there from day one based on the wear of the dagger and the wear of the star - really a nice detailed heavy peice although the engraving on the blade is not as crisp as new it is very visible.
