I just got this certificate of training to advance to officer taken at the Pol.School in WIEN .Interesting part is that this was taken from 1-7-1944 to 4-21-1944 at a school for drivers by Meister Fritz Malburg from Hamburg . He only finished the school with a "C" grade ! Posted by Bernd.

Bernd,

It does look like a very nice grouping. Wien seemed to be the place for a lot of police activity during the war. Not only this driving school but the Pol tank school and a big WSP office were located there. I bought three Postschutz photograph albums there from a fellow serving in a Wien Postschutz unit. There is still stuff to be found in the Wien flea markets!

A friend found some info on the Pol. Oberst who signed the document :Oberst Kurt ALBRECHT,born 11-11-1895 ,NSDAP 1-3-1932 #1,008,720 , SS # 393,245 joined in 1941,Oberstlt. on 20 April 1939(Hitler's Birthday!! ),SS-Standarten- fuehrer and Pol. Oberst on 30 Jan.1943 . On Staff of SS-Abschnitt XXXI-WIEN,1944. He did not have either the SS ring or sword , sooo-a "real" police officer .Had WWI 1st and 2nd class Iron Cross, Hindenburg with swords, WWII KVK 1ST and 2nd class with swords .
