I have never been an accoutrement fanatic but came across what appears to be a legit army dagger with these hangers, are they real?. I have never seen this type before and would appreciate a ball-park valuation. If they are fake, I need to re-assess the dagger, thanks for the help.

Never seen such hangers and I'm pretty certain that they are fantasy. Even the fabric doesn't look right and neither does the design. However, it doesn't mean that you dagger isn't original. Sure looks like a beauty.

Pat, This dagger appeared for sale for a brief time and has a jeweller engraved crossguard, I was tempted to snap it up but when you find something that appears original being sold with something dubious, alarm bells start ringing. The opinion on the hangers was my initial reaction as well but thought it worth getting other views, they are certainly very imaginative.

Hangers are not period. Dagger looks a little funny in the photo-but maybe not.
