Geoff,

Buchel is very rare in a 2nd Luft dagger as the brothers have said. I've seen one or two of these but with white grips, but this one is in suer shape and with a nice, pleasing orange grip. This piece is a keeper for sure, congrats.

A bit oblique of the topic. I have to ask this captive audience.

How rare would a Buchel TR era Heer Lionhead sword be?

A Buchel lionhead would definitely fall into the "not-often-seen" category. Wink

Please start a new thread under German Swords with some pictures.

Would be interesting and worthwhile.

Thanks.

Geoff- Nice luft. Congrats.
