I am indeed fortunate as I happen to know what is inside the brown paper bag. Let me tell you all that the helmet (yes, it's a helmet) contained therein is a true "creme-de-la-creme" of German Third Reich helmets. Those of us who know Cody know that he would settle for nothing less than the very best.

Trust me...the agonizing wait will be well worth the feast that your eyes will soon happily devour. Wink

Cheers,

Ta-da !

SA M-35dd, Q64, 1939-dated throughout. Were it not for the SA meatbal the helmet would exhibit no damage at all.

Ken Niewiarowicz was kind enough to offer this fine helmet and I shall forever be grateful. Thank you very much Mr. Niewiarowicz.

The helmet is exceedingly rare with possibly just a handfull in existence. Here's a link to an earlier posting by Ken shortly after he acquired this magnificent TR artifact - http://daggers.infopop.cc/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/258302...650065993#9650065993

Stunning...simply stunning! Cody, I would suspect that the damage to the SA decal probably occurred within a half-hour of it's original application in 1939, when the decal was still "wet".

Ken, you are a generous man.

Cheers,

WOOOWWWWW!!! This helmet impresses me more every time I see photos of it.

And DAMN, I hate it when my jaw falls so hard to the floor that it cracks the tiles...

Cody, I am REALLY impressed....REALLY impressed.

Very impressive Cody. Not many helmet collectors can boast of a "brownie". Cool

A beautiful brown SA helmet and thank you for sharing it with us!
Could you explain a little to a uniform collector who these helmets were made for specificaly and from your fellow members comments I would say these are very rare.I must admit I have never seen one of these being worn in period pics but Im sure you gents have. Smile

Only a very few collectors can say to own such a rare helmet in such a condition. (one of the last emperor's for sure.)

Hi Tom,

With a digital camera, the color of the helmet is difficult to capture. A 'clean' image inclined toward green which caused brown to appear olive. Photoshop has a 'color balance' tool which accurately restored the color to a proper brown. Discovered the versatility of the 'color balance' tool when preparing these images for posting.
