Gents,

It looks like the 1927 doll thread may just be poison for me as I cannot even see the photos. I will try a new companion thead.

Anyway, here is the miniature Polizei Tschako for the doll. I have never seen such detail. Interestingly, it was made by Erel.

Closeup view of the police star. The plate has the dates of service from 1902 - 1927 engraved on it along with the EREL logo at the top of the wreath. Notice the Prussian Police ****arde.

Inside view of the Tschako. Notice the EREL logo and the lining. The silk lining is made exactly like the officer model with bamboo edges. The leather liner is also made like the officer model with scalloped edges.

I have never seen a miniature Tschako like this.

Just came across this thread and thought I would post a follow-up.

Actually, from my civilian German police collecting I know that there is a maker that is (was) producing miniaturized versions of WWII / Post WWI Police Tschakos, as well as a regular miniature police hats. This was back about 15 years ago. I have seen probably 2 dozen + in a display once. I actually took a photo and will try and find it. I had a mini hat, but sold it about ten years ago when I was trying to "finance" my divorce.

The detailing was absolutely phenomenal. Down to the horse hair plumes. I was shocked. But at the time I couldn't afford the cost. They were a little pricey, but I think each one was being custom made.

Andrew,

Here is an example of a current miniature Polizei Tschako. This one is plastic I believe.

Nice scans on the Hamburg Tschako. I need to find some free time and go through my old photos. I know I took pics. Unfortunately, that was about 15 years ago, and my old mind isn't as clear as it once was. The one you show looks like it is made using the old Hamburg police mutzen stern.

I do remember the TR versions I saw were almost 100% exact minitures of the original. Unfortunately the precision came with a high price tag. I also believe they were all hand made.
