Chief,

Looks like one I had in my files from way back. I had always thought the "G" mark for Godet was used later, making this a reissue piece. I'm no expert on EKs so I defer to the experts. Nice to see you branching out Smile

Thanks Billy!

So you think it was re-issued after 1870/1871?
Any other opinions?
Any ideas as to value?

Thanks,
Chief

I think that it looks good, so I bought it.
It should be here soon, so I will post more pictures when it arrives. I am just looking for a little re-assurance from fellow forum members. Do you guys agree with my opinion?

Thanks,
Chief

Looks more like a "Muffin Crown" fake to me. Sorry.

Chief, will wait for better pics. It is not an 1870 period EKI as far as I know, nor do I think it is a WWI period reissue, if original it could be a WWII period made for display or a museum piece. I do not believe it to be a Godet made piece. It's not the WWI period Godet "G". I do not recall a sideways "G" from any period.

Not sure myself on this one. Lookforward to more pics when it comes in, I do agree it's not a WW1 reissue.

Thanks Guys,

I did want to get a better look at it also.

I do have a return period, so when I get it, I will post pictures. If it's not good, I will send it back.

I just posted a bunch of pictures on the Imperial Medals Forum. Here are a few of them. What do you guys think? Return it or keep it?

Thanks for looking.

IMO this is a fake. I don't like it at all.
Chemically aged, strange pin, lack of detail. Also, it looks like it is one piece with the black paint of the core going up the beading a little.

Walt,

Thanks, that's what I thought after seeing it.
