If it's about 8 3/4" long it looks like a miniature KS 98 bayonet with the cross guard removed. Normally used for a war remembrance or advertising, apparantly what yours was as I see remnants on the blade.

Yes Mike, as you can see in Nats post, they did have scabbards albeit without frog studs.

Hi BarryG, your are right ,there are no frog studs, and no runners.There is red felt inside the scabbard,Some of them have company names,and some have city coats of arms on the scabbard.I think they are probably letter openers,regards nats

Hi mike ff,They do turn up on ebay now and again.I bought this for $24.I have seen them go as high as $55,It probably depends whats engraved on the blade,and condition of course,
