Gentlemen,

I wasn't really looking for another SS EM but when I saw this one, I just couldn't say NO, as it is the nicest one that I have ever held into my hands.
The blade is stone mint and the scabbard has 99% full lacquer still present.

With a bit of luck, they are still out there ! Wink

Thank you guys !

This dagger was first found by our friend Craig and it is now residing in the Great White North. Wink

Here's a close up pic under an artificial light, so you can better appreciate the perfect crossgrain.

Hi Pat congrats. I saw it on Craig's site and knew at the asking price that it wouldn't last long. I was right. cheers, Ryan

Thanks Ryan but this is not the same dagger as the one being showned on Craig's web page.
This dagger was never up for sell and it was a "private" purchase done through Craig. Wink

That dagger is wonderfully preserved! Congratulations, Pat!

Looks like Mr Gottlieb has bought a whole bunch of close to perfect SS daggers: a 33 EM's, a ground Röhm (both Herder's!), a chained 36, a full Röhm, a Himmler... maybe other members have bought more not listed pieces recently?

Must have been an advanced and known collection that he acquired, does anyone knows who's collection that was?
Confused

Best regards,

Herman

Herder made very fine daggers & that one is no exception. A nice score indeed!

Gunther,

Good daggers are like great wine, they get better with time.
By the time I get old, it will have plenty of patina and I will have the pleasure to see it aged . Wink
