These just arrived from the seller. The catalog is an original.

Personally, I like a little more 'action' from my Allach pieces, but one day I think ALL Allach is going to be very tough to find. So, I just lucked out on these two basic striped vase models.

Hi Kingtiger,

Lovely vases and an original catalog! Any chance to see the markings on the bottoms?

Hello,

nice vases! May I ask: was the catalogue cheap or expensive?

Alexandra, the inside of the original Allach catalog has a penciled notation saying $75. I have had it for about 4-5 years. I think it is worth at least twice that today. It is the only copy I have. Sometimes they do pop up on e-bay as copies or originals.

Wonderful pieces Mark. Congrats! Smile
Some time ago I missed an original Allach catalog that ended up going for almost nothing on e-ban. Oh Well.
Hope to meet you at the MAX.

Where would you have to look if those pieces are authentic?

Hello,

thanks for the answer. Maybe I am too dumb but I still have one problem: now is this an original catalogue or a copy Confused?

Alexandra,

The repros are from $10-20US and an original will cost you from $150-200. Either one would be most helpful for studying photos of original pieces of Allach.

Best!

Rob,

Allach is sometimes faked so you must be very careful and run it past someone who knows the stuff. Kris Lindblom, Dennis Porell and Bill Warda are the most knowledgeable I know in the field. I would not really absolutely trust anyone else...anyone. I almost got nailed on a fake rearing horse that I thought was OK at the SOS two years ago. I returned it after Kris looked at it and knew right away something was not right. The seller, Malcom Fisher, promptly sold it to the next unsuspecting person even after I told him it was a bad repro. I think his site is "Regimentals". Bad experience but I learned a lot from it.

Hello Mark and Bill,

thanks for the answers. Hmmmm, I do not know what I should try to get first. Nearly everything they made is so beautiful!
And I guess I have to wait and see because I guess I cannot get it in a normal porcelain store today...
Are there more pictures in the forum to get a better impression?

Rob,Alexandra,
Have a look at my post on the REARING HORSE,on this forum, just a few listings below this one,You will see a link to the story Kingtiger mentions re the fake horse and you will see,in my opinion, one of the best figures that Allach ever produced, the same one that Regimentals were selling for £1300,faked!!
I strongly advise anyone to get in touch with Dennis Porrell, email him at his site as shown by Kingtiger,he will help you get a genuine piece,he did so for me,after being recommended by Kingtiger.Trust him.The look of Allach is surpassed by the thrill of having it in hand.
Regards,Ivan.

Alexandra,
High end pieces are very very expensive,so called Political Pieces, statues of soldiers, airmen and male and female youth figures, have a look at the Allach website and you will see them, also Reich bowls etc. the list goes on.
It does wet the appetite, some lovely small pieces, the mice and dach puppies.
Regards,Ivan.

Hello Ivan,

now I have seen those political pieces. They look interesting and like proud men/women can look. And especially I like the look of these riders on horses - they seem to be more impressive (although I have not seen one in reality yet Roll Eyes).
It seems that this rearing horse is your favourite Smile.

Did anyone see this Allach auction on ebay? Very rare items if they are real. They sold for $3450. each. Heres the link to the first item. Mike

I was watching them like a hawk. Just a few years ago, maybe 5 years, they could be had for that much and you would get BOTH!

Surprisingly, Allach is offered in e-bay occasionally but you better communicate with the seller before you send money anywhere. I have purchased three or four small pieces like vases and candle holders from e-bay sellers. Nothing big like that piece. That was a determined and educated buyer whoever it was that won that auction.
