This silver ring is probably from the WW1 American Signal Corps .
I presume the picture that represents two persons with attributes and crests have a meaning , or stands for a unit?

Rightside...... Because of the apart soldered eight-edged front, it is possible that the fronts of diverse units could be put on these rings?

Mark. The important first two letters are difficult to read..... marked G (?) B STERLING.
Any info is welcome. Cheers, Benten

Benten, Like some of the WW2 U.S. rings it looks like the front cartouche can have any unit emblem affixed a soldier would want.. Can't tell you exactly about the front emblem other than as you mentioned something signals, or about the side shield with the eagle and figures.. Hopefully a member familiar with U.S. insignia will come in and give us an explanation... Looks like now we have an unknown Allied 'GB' mark!

Thanks for your reply Gaspare. It isn't easy to find this mark. Concerning the two figures with shield in the middle , someone gave me a tip about the New York State Seal..... I have post here some text and picture ( with my ring ); I think they have been mistaken the figures in the seal; left is Liberty , right is Justice. This ring , with the New York Seal, seems to be a variation on rings that have most times an eagle on each side. Cheers, Benten
