Gentlemen,
Some years ago (at least 30) I purchased this Rohm dagger from who I thought was a reputable dealer (since has passed-over. At that time there was no such thing as reference books, internet forums or reproduction identification facts. So now that knowledgeable collectors have been able to help many of us who "just didn't know" I ask your advice on this dagger. Is it, or isn't it? Thank you.

Is is just the photo, or is the ridge on the Roehm side worn ??
If you can do a shot "straight on" of the inscription and logo it would help..

How 'bout this? This maybe a partial Rohm cuz it looks a bit "buffed out" on the center ridge...

Hard to tell as really need to see the location of the makers mark in relation to the inscription. with a square on photo.
But it looks like its an early Benchmarked Eickhorn with the low down maker mark, which are plus points.
I would hazard a quess it looks ok, from what we can see.
I'm not the real expert of these pehaps Galien or Craig can pass comment...

Looks good to me, but there's no substitute for the ol' "hands on" examination. The tm looks good and as if it's properly placed. The inscription looks good, but, because it is a bit "broken up," it's a lttle tough to tell about it. The "5" on the crossguard adds to its authenticity. I have a "Himmler" with the smooth tail logo and "5" on the guard.

Grumpy,
It's an eight under the crossguard and I'll try to shoot another pic in a few minutes with the info you might require. I think the wood handle is the pearwood type. Will get another photo out in a few minutes. Thanks guys...
