Picked up this stic pin. About the size of a US 5 cent coin. Can anyone confirm the start to end dates of the 'Sudetendeutsche Partei'[S.d.P.]. I'm finding 2 sets of dates 1934 to 1939 and 1933 to 1938...thanks, G.

Very nice & unusual stickpin! The S.d.P. was formed in 1935 from the old Sudeten-deutsche-Heimatfront, & was under the leadership of Konrad Henlein, a former Turnerverband instructor from Asch. From July 1933, Henlein was Turnerverband leader for the entire Sudetenland, demonstrating the close relationship between the Turnerverbands & the beliefs of Nazi-ism. The Turnerverband, which from its start in the early 1860's, was chauvinistic, very Nationalistic, aggressive, & anti-Semitic.

Great & interesting pin Gaspare.
I've often wondered about these wooden pins. Were they hand carved or machine made? I'm sure that they can't have been stamped surely?
Any ideas?
Cheers Don

* Schloss 1 , thanks for the info!
Don, this looks to be machine made. Not exactly sure how, but much too perfect for hand done..Has a heavy clear varnish on the front. ,G.

Gaspare, Nice looking pin! I've never seen anything like that before. What kind of wood is it?

I always thought they were pressed somehow.

Fritzi, couldn't tell you what type of wood it is,,light in color, its hard and dense...
Joe ,you might be on to something there. Maybe wet or steamed then pressed and varnished? Could be made from old button tooling? ,G.
