Is there a list anywhere of dealers/sellers who
have proved to be difficult or less than honest.
It would be useful to have an idea of the "known offenders" out there.

I would tend to agree with you however that very topic has been a veritable minefield on this site in past years. If you do a search, you may find some threads about particular dealers but I believe many of them have, over time been redacted, edited or downright deleted previously.

there are private militaria organizations who do have lists. you wont be able to get them unless you are a member.
