I asked her what the deal was with her using the pics from the warelic site and she responded by saying that she doesn't own a camera and thus "borrowed" pictures of a dagger that we must assume is similar to the one she is actually selling. The pics in the auction are not of the actual dagger being sold.

Unless someone is able to get in touch with the buyer, he is going to be out $7,600.
I have more proof this sale is a complete scam. I put in a bid when the auction reappeared, and before I knew where the pictures came from.
I just received this e-mail from the seller:
_________________________________________________________________
Offer end date: Sep-16-06 08:31:54 PDT Message from sportbaelle: Dear member, as I own a few of the Eickhron daggers with similiar optical shape I like to use the official second chance offer for bidders below the winning bid Regards, Lise Second Chance Offer The seller, sportbaelle is making this Second Chance Offer because the high bidder was either unable to complete the transaction or the seller has a duplicate item for sale.
The selling of this item through Second Chance Offer is in compliance with eBay policy; you will be able to exchange Feedback with the seller and will be eligible for all eBay services associated with a transaction, such as fraud protection. Act Now - This Offer Expires Soon

When I clicked the link, she is offering to sell me another Navy Honor dagger for a "Buy it Now" of my nominal bid.
I guess she wants to try to clean up a little more and get some more easy cash before she tries to disappear.

Check out that bid history. There were like five or six people tripping over each other for a chance to throw their money away. All the shill had to do was sit back and watch. And, the "Winner" lives in Israel? What would possess someone to send that much money (basically in cash) all that way, and then just sit back and hope for the best?
Best Regards, Robert

For that kind of money, it may be well to make the trip to Germany. Spend $1500 on air fare and save $6000. At least you would have a holiday to remember

This is turning into a really convoluted mess. This (Albrecht) dagger does exist and had resided in the late Robert Waitts collection in the late 90s. Most of that collection was sold. If this dagger was part of that inventory sold it must have fetched about 6 figures and I can't imagine it being auctioned off at such a huge loss. The way things are I'm wondering if the real owner of the Albrecht dagger really knows that his dagger is being peddled off on ebay.

I know the buyer and I wanrned him about the scam. He will report it to the German ambassy in Israel. This dagger, he said, was sold for 35 000 USD in the past. The original seller is from Chicago (not the scam back from Germany)of the real dagger tried to contact him but e bay blocked the messages. So the buyer darigdog almost lost his 7600$. The warning came before he sent the money to Germany.

BORSE: The second chance offer is a completly different scam from another scammer! It happens with almost every item that sells for over 1,000 ob ebay. If you check out the URL you will see it is not from ebay and if you look for it "my ebay" It won't be there. Most of these eroneous second chance offers originate from Poland, Russia etc. The scammers send them to the under bidders.

Dem - actually, the second chance offer was through ebay, and I believe it was from the "seller." The URL was part of ebay cgi. She really is greedy with her scam. The link brought me to an E-bay page, with the original photos and the link to the seller, and a "Buy it Now."
Thanks for the warning on those scammer from Poland and Russia. Never heard of that before.
It looks like we all contributed to thwarting this crime. Thanks to Oleg1, the potential buyer in Israel has been alerted to the scam. Now, she will get nothing from her con job.
Moreover, the potential buyer has already left her negative feedback. Here it is!
"Fraud! All photos from website US dealer.I will inform German Police."

the potential buyer contacted me and said that he tried to warn other bidders of the scam but e bay blocked his messages. He has an attorney his said, here in the states who would file an official complaint with the state of California against E bay. That is according to the potential buyer (darigdog)

In the end the potential buyer will probably get arrested for buying a Nazi dagger in Israel. 25 years of hard labor and forfeiture of the dagger.

Jeez - this site and all your efforts really put the hurt on old Lise's scam.
Now she has changed her feedback to "private" so no one can view the fraud and contacting the police comment.
Private Feedback This member, sportbaelle, has decided to make their feedback comments private. Feedback can still be left for this user and the ratings left are shown above in summary format. Learn more about private feedback.
Poor thing - she hasn't been having a good week.
