There are a lot of fake stamps around - being used by unscrupulous people to increase the value on handguns from the WW2 era by adding a false German connection.
There are also fake holster ink stamps for that extra touch of "authenticity".
I was reading about this on another forum a few days ago - Gunboards Italian Weapons section.

interesting...all the fake german stuff makes one ill. as long as we want to believe it is correct the buying will continue.
