Thanks for posting extra pictures.
From what the pictures show, this grip looks fine, untouched. Rivets seem not the regular ones, but that could be the pictures... Looks like a late non magnetic hilt, correct?

The rivets and hilt definately look to be zinc.

Herman and Russ - Yes, the hilt is the late non-magnetic type, and the rivets most likely are zink also. They have that soft grey zink look, and are definately not steel/iron or aluminum.
Looking at the wear marks on the scabbard and lug from the frog, this piece was definately worn - but not much as the rest of the paint is in very good condition.
Anyone have any thoughts, opinions or applicable information on this piece? Since I have owned it for so long, I've been waiting almost 50 years for your comments!!!

The "bayonet" is not HJ. It's a fighting knife or dress knife --like a bayonet but not a bayonet-- It can be found in the E. Pack catalog

Houston - I know I said PUMA catalog, just a slip as I had a PUMA HJ out for another reason.
I really meant the date and dagger number in the E. Pack catalog.
Is the Pack model the same as my Klaas? I wonder how many were made as we seem to have more than one manufacturer now.
