$30.00 is a bit TOO much. LOL Big Grin why on earth would one need or want with this? (Maybe age it and claim it to be war era?)
I saw these a year or two ago, needless to say I lost interest by the time my movement was through. Razz

With respect that seems a strange line to take. If the Marine dagger is manufactured by the original WKC Solingen firm (and the Swiss dagger by Boker) why would you not value the craftsmanship of that firms products.

My interest in our hobby is twofold; unquestionably for the historical provenance and significance but also for the craftsmanship and materials of these pieces that is an artform in itself.
Would you view an immediately post war 'GI Souvenir' parts dagger produced by a Solingen firm also as 'junk' I wonder. It surely represents the era just as significantly as a wartime piece does.
For me the Boker dagger is interesting in that it reminds us the Romanesque design 'borrowed' by the Nazi's was originally a 16c Swiss hunting knife.

OK I've got my M35 strapped on ready for the replies !

Why not. Ka-bar still makes the same knife. https://www.kabar.com/product_...me=Military/Tactical
Same difference. I actually have 3 Ka-bars. I like them.
Boeker thinks they have a market and why not to resurrect an old design. They also made a WW1 inspired trench knife. http://www.boker.de/us/index.p...,11&a=121918&p=&pp=0

As you can tell they are not out to make 'reproductions'. I like their products and I have a few Boeker knives. I have a few of the Applegates and am thinking of buying a few others. I have not seen this 'Swiss Dagger' in real, but I am sure it is a quality product. All of the Boeker Solingen made knives still are.

My knee jerk statement was fueled by my love of "vintage" daggers.
(And my disdain for knock offs, which these are not)
I'm sure these are fine knives,
just not for me. Wink

While I don't have a strong opinion with regards to modern replicas of historical daggers, the price tag on this newly released Damascus Holbein model is startling.

http://www.boker.de/us/index.p...=14,1,11&a=121551DAM

I'll be the first to concede that Böker produces quality products, and Damascus steel is a beautiful thing, but at that cost, one might as well track down a 3rd Reich example.

I'm curious also if these newly produced Böker parts will be making their way into the collecting circuit. Has anyone examined one of these?
