Hi guys,
I was hoping I could get your opinion on this German cross. I'm not really into collecting medals (after being fooled 2 times when I started collecting) but I find the German crosses so impressive I'm tempted to make an exception. I started to do some research on the Zimmerman pieces and I'm doubting this is a real one but the fact there seems to be far more reference materials available for the "light version" does not help. The size measurements seemed to be consistent with the information I found but the pin "attachment" seems to be directly soldered to the back of the medal (no extra plate); I've seen this is the case for the hook that hold the pin but only once(on a very low quality picture) for the attachment. Also, the rivets do not seem to be identical. All opinions welcome! thanks Steven

Thanks! Do you think the damage to the "rays" can be repaired? It seems like someone dropped it and 2 of the biggest silver rays have been bent. Any suggestions on how the chip in the swastika , the 2 bent rays and the general "wear" affect the pricing? I've checked Detlev's price guide but would this type of damage take 25%; 40%, 50% of the guideprice? Steven
